All but one of the buildings are single-story and generally designed to merge in the landscape and be subsidiary to the natural features of the National Park within which they are placed. The designs have been conceived to strengthen the existing place in this woodland setting. The buildings are of unique organic form and design, arranged along routes and adjacent to open spaces, to enhance the informal relaxed experience of dwelling amongst the trees. The buildings have been deliberately designed and detailed with a common language in mind to create homogeneity to the Park and a clear sense of identity.
The designs and construction methodology follow the sustainability requirements for the green mountain region (Cyrene declaration).
The buildings have been designed to minimise the heating and cooling loads and to increase the feeling of comfort and well-being amongst its occupants.
